Challenge

A federal research facility supporting highly complex scientific computing environments needed to modernize a large-scale Cisco UCS and FlexPod deployment approaching end of life. The organization required a more reliable, available, and operationally efficient infrastructure platform, but budget timing and phased purchasing constraints made it impossible to complete the full transition all at once.

Solution

NWN designed a next-generation data center architecture built on Cisco UCS-X and centralized management through Cisco Intersight. The team developed a phased deployment roadmap aligned to the organization’s budget cycle, while providing project management and technical services to help reduce implementation risk.

Outcomes

  • Created a future-ready compute platform designed to improve reliability and scalability.
  • Simplified infrastructure visibility and management through centralized tooling.
  • Aligned modernization work to available budget and deployment windows.
  • Positioned the organization to improve power, cooling, and operational efficiency over time.
