Mary and Jim Sullivan, CEO, NWN honored as one of Boston Magazine’s 150 Most Influential Bostonians for leading the charge for hybrid work for 5,000 organizations across the country.
The red carpet event was hosted by Boston Magazine and ‘Quin House and sponsored by NWN, Suffolk Construction and United South End Settlements. ‘Quin House Co-founder Sandra Edgerley was one of this year’s honorees along with NBC10 Anchor Latoya Edwards, who emceed a speaking program with remarks by Boston Magazine Editor Chris Vogel, NWN Chief Marketing Officer Andrew Gilman and Boston Foundation President and CEO Lee Pelton.
Jim Sullivan was recognized by Boston Magazine as an innovative leader in hybrid work technology, which has been adopted by companies across the Commonwealth and throughout the United States and the world.
¨Enjoy working from your couch? You may have (Jim) Sullivan to thank for that,” Boston Magazine editor Chris Vogel says. “His Boston-based cloud communications service provider currently powers hybrid work for more than 5,000 organizations and counting in North America, with $1 billion-plus in sales. He’s also leading a company that makes its own employees happy: NWN was recognized by Comparably as a “Best Place to Work” in 2022.”
Sullivan joins major business and political leaders such as Governor Maura Healey, Boston Mayor Michelle Wu, and Suffolk Construction CEO John Fish on this year’s list, which Boston Magazine says reflects “the more-diffuse nature of power across the city.”
“I am both honored and humbled to receive this recognition and I do so on behalf of my entire company,” Sullivan says. “NWN is committed to providing technology that allows companies to work smarter and more efficiently from anywhere and we remain true to our values of creating a positive work environment for our employees while also giving back to charitable organizations both here in Massachusetts and around the country.
“We expanded from 100 to 150 to reflect a more diffuse and inclusive group of leaders sharing the responsibility of making our city the best place to live and work,” Vogel added.
